Okay, well scratch that…

So I said in my earlier post that I was going to walk today. When I got up, it was still dark out side and NOT raining. Of course, when it gets daylight, it starts to rain and rain and rain. Now my 2 hour window that I need for exercise is closing. I hope and pray tomorrow, but I have to work. I hate daylight savings for this very reason! I would rather have the daylight in the morning so I can exercise when the rest of the world is still asleep, or in my case when my toddler is still asleep. He just got up at 1030 (Yes, I am VERY lucky) but it’s still raining. But on the upside of things, I’ve been up for 4 hours and have only stopped to blog and eat breakfast. I’ve actually worked up a sweat doing all this moving and rearranging and vacuuming. Whew!

150 ounces of water yesterday…

So when I blogged my loss yesterday morning I said I was going to try to get in more water…I did! 150 ounces! It actually wasn’t that hard. I have a bottle that I carry around with me everywhere that is 24 ounces, so I filled that up in the morning, made myself drink that while I worked and then got ready to leave, then filled it up again. DS (dear son) and I then left and went running around ALL DAY! We had lunch at McAllister’s Deli. This place is awesome! Their drinks come in 32 ounce cups. I of course had a diet coke, but when we left I asked for water, with a lemon. I had that while we were out the rest of the afternoon, got home guzzled down another one, then filled that up again and drank that. So 32×3=96 add that to the 2-24 ouncers I had and you get 144, then I had another glass before bed. So I probably had over 150 ounces. I am going to try to do that again today!

Tonight presents some challenges. I am going out with some friends for Girl’s Night Out. It should be fun. We are going to a steak house and I really want steak, but I really want a strawberry daiquiri too. Oh the torture! I am going to get in a good walk today…8 miles at least, maybe 9, maybe 10, who knows. So that’s some serious APs there. Oh and we are going to a birthday party later on–complete with cake and ice cream. Good thing I didn’t use too many flex points last night.

Here is yesterday’s menu. We went for Mexican late last night, so I did pretty good. Oh and we didn’t order any cheese dip! NSV!!!!!

Food Points

Apple Pie Oatmeal--4
strawberries and a banana with a little fat free cool whip--2

McAllister’s “The Veggie”–lettuce, tomato, peppers, cucumbers, swiss cheese and fat free tomato basil vinegarette--5
Bites of my son’s cheetos--2
100 cal pk–grasshoppers (LOVE these! They taste just like girl scout thin mint cookies!) and split another one with the toddler--3

Veggie Quesidilla (all veggies, no cheese)--5
Rice and bites of my son’s (he fed it to me this time)--8

Total 29
29 points used, 23 allowed so 6 FP used, 29 remaining.

I think you should get water points if you drink that much water, you know like you get activity points?!?!? Have a great day!

Down 2.2 for the week!!!

Although, I wanted to lose 2.6, I am happy with any loss!! 170.3 was my weight today. I know next week I will be in the 160s. My next goal is 165. I need to get more work outs in this week. And maybe more water. I am getting in the required 64 ounces, but when I lost before, I was drinking anywhere from 100-130 ounces a day. I’ll start on that today. Have a great day everyone. I will post my menu later tonight.

Oh and my flex points re-newed today too. WHEW!

I want to live to be 80…or even longer!

So this morning I was watching Oprah from yesterday (LOVE Ti-Vo!!) and she had Sydney Poiter (sp??) on there. He had just turned 80 and they were meeting with him about his book The Measure of a Man. Some of the things he said about his life…wow. Anyway, his age got me thinking. 80! I am 28. My grandma is in her 70s and acts like she is still 50. I want to live long enough to see great grandchildren from my son and any future children. The choices that I make now will affect how long I live. So I am happy to be on this journey. I know it won’t be the last time b/c of those future children. But at least I know I am on the right path. I am doing the right thing for me to eventually live that long. Go me!

So last night I did end up having a snack after I blogged so I ended my day right at where I should be. Today has been pretty good. I didn’t get a walk in, but when I haven’t been working today (except for now) I have been up moving around all day. We had some painting done this week in our house and we moved our son into his “big boy” room. That was a chore! I’m still not done, but the main stuff is done.

I will weigh in tomorrow morming first thing. I haven’t been on the scale at all since last Friday so I am curious to see how I did. I really hope it says 160-something. I don’t care if it’s 169.9! Here’s how today went:

Apple Pie Oatmeal--4
yogurt with Fiber One added in--2

Subway veggie wrap–spinach, tomato, pickle, onion, green peppers, banana peppers, oregano, and sweet onion sauce and provolone cheese--4
apples--0
Bites of my son’s lunch--4

Shrimp cooked in the oven wrapped in foil with Pam and some spices--1
Lipton whole grain noodle side and broccoli--4
100 cal pk (split 2 with the toddler)--

Total--22

Did you all know Subway now offers apples as a side to their subs, instead of chips? They do still have chips, but I don’t like chips b/c they have no nutritional value and I don’t like to waste my points on them. So every time I went to Subway before, I would just get the sandwich. Now I can get the entire meal deal and be completely happy! I LOVE Subway! I could eat that veggie wrap every day. Well, maybe not every day, but 4 out of 7.

My son’s school (daycare) has this award they are giving out to the kids now. It’s called the clean plate award. Whoever cleans their plate, gets the award. I have issues with this. The reason I got fat was b/c I had to clean my plate when I was younger (I also talk about this in my About Me section). My son will probably never get that award b/c we don’t force him to eat everything on his plate. My sister in law does this to her son and he is a big kid. Always has been. Now why would you force your kid to eat everything??? That’s one of the leading causes of childhood obesity in this country–Clean Plate Syndrome. I am going to speak to the director on Monday when I drop him off. I don’t think they encourage the kids to eat everything on their plate, but they still give this award. I am sure it’s b/c they waste so much food, but still. I would rather see them waste food than have a lot of those kids suffer from childhood obesity.

Okay, I’ve rambled long enough tonight. I’m off to bed…well after I finish my “About Me” section. Have a good one!

Where can I find the Quaker minis?

I mean where can I find them in the store? I’ve found the popcorn ones ONCE! I loved them, but haven’t been able to fine them or any other kinds since. I’m in Indianapolis so I’ve got Wal-Mart, Super Target, Kroger, Marsh, and I think that’s the main grocery stores. I do have a Trader Joes, but not close by.

Anyone know??? Thanks! (In advance).

So I lied last night…

I said I was going to bed after I posted and I wouldn’t eat anything else, but I did. A banana. So I still had one point left over for the day. Not too bad…

I did go out for a walk today 51 minutes or so–3.36 miles. I went with a friend and that made it seem to go by so much faster than it normally goes. We are going to walk again on Saturday. I am going to do 8 miles–hopefully in 2 hours, no more and she is going to join me for the first hour or so, maybe an hour and a half. That will be so nice too!! We are both doing a half marathon on May 5 here in Indianapolis. I will be glad when it’s over. I can handle the training sessions during the week, it’s the long Saturdays that kill me. I mean that will be 2 hours out of my day this coming Saturday. And those weekends are oh so precious!! But after this week, I only have 2 more long training days left. WOO HOO!!! Then starts the tapering. YEAH!!!

So here is how today went….

Apple Pie Oatmeal--4
Banana--2

Salisbury Steak leftovers w/ Asparagus--3
Banana--2

Schwan’s chicken breast fixed on the George Foreman w/ green beans and Lipton whole grain rice side--6
100 cal pak--2
Something else to snack on????

Totals--19

So I still have 4 points left for the day. We are getting ready to do some rearranging of furniture so that may make me hungry once we are done. Plus I earned 3 or 4 APs today too. But I have no intention of eating those. I have WI on Friday morning and I really hope to be back in the 160s. I gained too much when my best friend came to visit. Too much pizza!

Kind of an ordinary day...

Apple Pie Oatmeal--4
Banana--2

SBD Monterey Chicken Wrap--4
HUGE Salad–lots of greens, green onions, cherry tomatoes, orange bell pepper and dressing (oil based)--2
Bag of popcorn--4

Schwan’s Chicken with Asian Style Sauce--1
1 1/2 egg rolls--3
Asparagus

Total--20

So I still have 3 points left for the day. And I am getting ready for bed, so I won’t use them. Helps make up for the 10 FP I am in the whole for the week I guess. I actually didn’t eat the other half of that egg roll b/c I was full. I actually put it down when I was done. Can you believe that? It’s like that switch Roni talked about yesterday. I don’t have that and neither does my husband.

I didn’t get in a walk today so I definitely will tomorrow. My neighbor and I are going to go tomorrow night for sure. I should have went tonight but my shins are still sore from the 6.53 miles I did on Sunday. Tomorrow will hopefully be 3 miles. And I may do Pilates too. I did get in all of my fruits and veggies today and that has been a goal of mine. I have to stick to 0 point veggies and I do fine. I am done working my long days this week so the afternoon munchies shouldn’t be a problem tomrorow. Till tomorrow……
